Yanni Hufnagel has been the assistant coach. This was for two seasons at California. For the 2016-17 season, he is joining Wolf Pack coaching staff. He will be under the head coach for the second year, Eric Musselman. All are excited about this as Yanni Hufnagel is highly experienced. He has already coached at California, besides Vanderbilt, and Harvard along with Oklahoma. Hence his arrival to Nevada is awaited by all. Eric Musselman had met Yanni Hufnagel nearly a decade back. At that time, he was impressed with this high-energy person who is a coach as well as a recruiter.

During his final season, Yanni Hufnagel had helped Golden Bears in posting a 23-11 record overall. This led them to be seeded at No. 4 in the NCAA Tournament. This has been the highest for California ever in the program. Also, he was responsible for recruiting a top 5 recruiting class. This was in 2015. It featured Jaylen Brown along with Ivan Rabb. This class was able to achieve second ranking nationally. This was by Rivals ranked them fourth while ESPN along with 247Sports ranked them fifth.

Yanni Hufnagel has spent a season at Vanderbilt. He was assistant coach over here under Kevin Stallings. This is where he had helped in landing a freshman class that was ranked nationally. In 2014, Yanni Hufnagel was the recruiting coordinator at the Commodores. The highlights of this team were Wade Baldwin IV along with Matthew Fisher-Davis. During this time, he was coaching Damian Jones. During the 2016 NBA Draft, Jones was the 30th pick by the Golden State Warriors.

He has also served four seasons at Nashville. Yanni Hufnagel was the assistant coach at Harvard. He was responsible for leading Crimson to the postseason every year. At this time, Harvard had a minimum of 20 wins in each season. They were able to record a 90-30 mark. Besides, they were the winner of Ivy League titles three times in a row.
